GUIDELINES FOR SERVICE HOURS

BROTHERS:

• 16 total hours of service throughout the semester
• Must be distributed over 6 different service projects
• Planning projects counts for service: this includes setup, breakdown, emailing and calling, coordinating people, etc.
• Must be entered online by May 1, 2011. We’ll demonstrate how to do so mid-semester.
• Limitations:
  • ONE of those projects may be a one-time, $10 donation to the charity/nonprofit of your choice. This does not count for hours, just a project.
  • Service to the brotherhood has a maximum of 1 project and 2 hours
    (usually from being an appointed or elected position, pledge team, rush projects, setting up formal and other fellowship events, counting hours)
  • Outside service is limited to 2 outside projects and 4 hours.
  • Outside service must be approved by the VPS in order to count!!!
• Note: donating blood can count once per semester as one hour AND one project (not outside service)
• You must wear letters to ALL service that counts for APO (that includes outside service)!

PLEDGES:

• 10 total hours of service during pledging
• Must be distributed over 5 different service projects (one may be your PC service project)
• Same limitations as above.

Consequences:
Failure to complete these required hours forfeits your active membership in our chapter and results in a probationary period, during which you will need to make up the hours in addition to regular hours. If you fail to do so, you will be placed inactive. NO EXCEPTIONS.
